Through MPortfolio, the University promotes integrative, life-long, and life-wide learning; develops reflective practitioners; and enables effective demonstration and assessment of student learning. Members of the Michigan Portfolio Community share a commitment to positive student development, innovative pedadgogy and practice, and educational excellence.

What is MPortfolio?

MPortfolio is:

  • a process that enables students to reflect on and identify connections between their experiences inside and outside of the classroom;
  • a pedagogy that foregrounds substantial meaning-making and fosters intentional learning;
  • a product that illustrates a learner's development, knowledge, skills, and strengths; and
  • a team of people from around the University of Michigan campuses who are dedicated to integrative learning, information literacy, and student development.

Students, staff, and faculty from many schools, colleges, and programs throughout the University of Michigan campuses are involved with MPortfolio, making up a strong community of learners and facilitators. Anyone at the University of Michigan can become involved with MPortfolio. Contact for more information.
